Job Summary
Texas A&M University’s Department of Chemistry seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Michaudel Laboratory to conduct interdisciplinary research in synthetic organic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis. The role focuses on reaction discovery, catalyst design, and mechanistic studies to understand structure‑property relationships in chemical systems. The incumbent will synthesize, modify, and characterize functional molecules and polymers and investigate their applications in sustainability, energy, electronics, and human health.
Responsibilities include designing and executing innovative research projects, analyzing experimental results, contributing to scientific publications and presentations, and collaborating with faculty, students, and research teams to advance the department’s research objectives and scientific impact.
- Conduct research in organic and polymer chemistry.
- Analyze and disseminate data results as part of group meetings, preparing manuscripts, reports, and scientific papers/presentations.
- Provide mentorship and assistance to laboratory team members, acting as a guide to students.
- Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement.
- Keep up to date on scientific research through literature reviews.
- Participate in writing grant proposals.
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation and follow applicable safety standards.
- PhD in a related field (chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related discipline).
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: catalysis, photochemistry, electrochemistry, organic synthesis, polymer synthesis, mechanistic studies, or related fields.
- Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.
- Salary:

Due to the position’s salary being partially funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment are contingent upon the availability of these funds in the future.
