The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be expected to co-lead, with RHRC faculty, at least one 12-month rural health focused project that is specified by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy as well as provide research support for other SRHRC projects. Results from these projects will be published as peer-reviewed manuscripts, publicly available policy briefs, and disseminated at rural-relevant conferences. RHRC's work is characterized by rapid turnaround, policy-relevant, rigorous research that informs decision-making and improves the health of rural communities.
Salary:
Will be commensurate based on the selected hire's education and experience.

Responsibilities
Research
- Under general supervision, is responsible for conducting research in their field of expertise.
- Utilizes knowledge and skills from education and expertise to complete research projects.
- Prepares research data (e.g., coding and cleaning) for analysis.
- Analyzes research data, performs quantitative analysis, and summarizes findings.
- Writes and contributes to research papers, articles, and publications.
- Prepares tables, graphs, and other visuals of research findings.
- Prepares Methods and Results sections of required research deliverables.
Mentoring
- Assists, mentors, and/or supervises student researchers and graduate students working on related research projects.
Prepares presentation/dissemination documents
- Prepares and presents research materials to small and large groups.
- Assists in the preparation of presentation materials for dissemination.
- Prepares posters and other presentation documents as needed.
Required Education and Experience
- Appropriate doctoral degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. with a focus in health policy, public health, demography, geography, sociology, or a closely-related discipline
- Experience using STATA data analysis software
- Experience with HCUP (Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project) data
- Training and demonstrated excellence in methods/statistics, including analysis of survey data, claims data, and/or qualitative data
- Ability to conduct rigorous research efficiently in a fast-paced, policy-relevant area.

- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
