Research Associate – TexasA&M University, College Station, Texas

Position within the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management. The Research Associate will conduct independent research activities, operate laboratory equipment, prepare scientific manuscripts and proposals for funding agencies, and train students and other laboratory or field personnel.

  Education:
  
  BS in biomechanics, engineering, kinesiology, physiology, or a related discipline.
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in a biomechanics or motion analysis laboratory; experience with human motion capture equipment and analysis software; ability to work independently and prioritize a multitask workload.
• Required Skills: Excellent organizational and planning skills; strong communication and interpersonal abilities; confidentiality; ability to maintain clear documentation.

• Preferred Education: MS in biomechanics, engineering, kinesiology, physiology, or a related discipline.

  Experience:
  
  Experience with Motek Medical GRAIL system and/or D‑Flow; electromyography; ultrasound; computational scripting languages (MATLAB, Python, R); troubleshooting research equipment and software.
• Preferred Knowledge: Standard operating procedures and lab documentation; recent clinical and translational research experience; successful collaboration in a professional setting.
• Preferred Personal Qualities: Enthusiasm for training others; strong interest in advancing knowledge of human neuromusculoskeletal form and function to improve performance and mobility.

• Design, plan, conduct, and coordinate rigorous experiments as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
• Install, operate, and maintain research equipment (3D motion capture, force plates, electromyography, ultrasound, dynamo meters, etc.).
• Perform data and statistical analysis and evaluate research results using tools such as Visual 3D, MATLAB, and R.
• Create and update standardized operating procedures for equipment and software.
• Maintain human subjects research compliance documents.
• Assist with participant recruitment and scheduling.
• Summarize and evaluate experiment results.
• Train undergraduate and graduate students and other laboratory or field staff.
• Contribute to scientific and client‑oriented publications.
• Assist with writing scientific conference abstracts, manuscripts, and grant proposals.
