MAINTENANCE SENIOR TECHNICIAN (FULL TIME)

SSC Services For Education invites applications for the Maintenance Senior Technician (Full‑time) position.

Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facility’s engineering and maintenance functions.

• Construct, finish, install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems, and related facilities, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Clean, lubricate, service, repair or diagnose malfunctions of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification, skills and licensing requirements as needed.
• Lead a group of workers on a project.
• Teach maintenance skills to other department members.
• Update work statuses, timing, and costs of repairs using company technology systems.
• Oversee fleet maintenance support, including welding, plumbing, electrical, food truck kitchen maintenance, vehicle operation, on‑campus fleet troubleshooting support, generator fixes, and general maintenance.
• Review work of outside vendors and non‑licensed maintenance workers; create punch lists.
• Determine manpower, material needs and deadlines for jobs or projects.
• Read blueprints, specifications and models to learn and plan work layout.
• Make routine computations as needed.
• Maintain logs, perform rounds and complete tests and inspections.
• Respond to emergency problems and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Make recommendations for modifying or improving preventive maintenance systems.
• Serve as a member of the facility’s emergency response team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Hold a specialization in one trade with an appropriate Journeyman’s license issued by the state (e.g., Journeyman Electrical, Registered ACR Technician with EPA refrigerant certification, Journeyman Plumber, Carpentry, Welding, Steam and Pipe fitting, Masonry or Electronic Instrumentation).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and models to learn work layout.
