OverviewUtilities & Energy Services in the Division of Operations includes over 240 staff members with varied backgrounds and interests. Responsibilities- Install, maintain, test, and repair overhead and underground high‑voltage electrical distribution systems, including cables, transformers, switch gear, and related equipment.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Assist and train in core tasks or independently perform complex work, oversee projects, and lead crews in planning, scheduling, and safe execution of operations.
- Collaborate and adhere to safety standards and develop technical skills in the line technician trade.
Master Utilities Line Technician: Requires high school or equivalent, 7 years of experience in overhead and underground electrical distribution system maintenance and operation, responsible for installing and servicing high voltage distribution systems, valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range: $36.06 to $54.87.
Senior Utilities Line Technician: Requires high school or equivalent, 5 years of experience in overhead and underground electrical distribution system maintenance and operation, responsible for installing and servicing high voltage distribution systems, valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range: $32.70 to $49.75.
Utilities Line Technician: Requires high school or equivalent, 3 years of experience in overhead and underground electrical distribution system maintenance and operation, responsible for installing and servicing high voltage distribution systems, valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range: $26.64 to $40.53.
Utilities Line Technician Assistant: Requires high school or equivalent, 1 year of related experience in general electrical, or electronics, under supervision, receives training and assists in installing and maintaining high voltage distribution systems, valid Class B drivers license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Pay Range: $21.59 to $32.85.
