Job Summary
Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facility's engineering and maintenance functions.
Location & Schedule- Campus: 600 Agronomy Road, College Station, TX 77843 (Openings available at other district locations)
- Full‑time position with flexible days and hours; details discussed during interview. Part‑time opportunities may also be available.

Pay range: $19.00–$22.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Construct, finish, install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems, and related building systems using power and hand tools.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs across multiple equipment types.
- Clean, lubricate, service, and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, as well as sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems, and specialty equipment.
- Lead a group of workers on projects and teach maintenance skills to department members.
- Update work status, timing, and costs of repairs using company technology.
- Oversee fleet maintenance support, including welding, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, vehicle driving, generator repairs, and general maintenance.
- Review work of outside vendors and non‑licensed workers; create punch lists.
- Determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs or projects.
- Read blueprints, specifications, and models to plan work layout.
- Make routine computations as needed.
- Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete tests and inspections.
- Respond to emergency problems and perform emergency repairs.
- Recommend modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
- Serve as a member of the facility's emergency response team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum three years of maintenance and preventative maintenance experience in an institutional setting.
- Specialization in one trade with an appropriate Journeyman's license issued by the state (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Welding, etc.).
- Eligible certifications:
Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA Refrigerant certification, journeyman plumbing license, or related trade certification. - Valid driver’s license.
