JOB SUMMARY

The Pressure Relief Valve Technician will provide technical labor for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all Pressure Relief Devices located in the Western North Slope Area. All work will be performed in accordance with the North Slope Safety Handbook and the Kuparuk / Alpine "VR" Quality Control Manual for the inspection and testing of ASME Section VIII pressure relief valves.

Extensive climbing of stairs and ladders is required in order to access many of the relief devices and valves being maintained. This position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining valves. This position checks pressure gauges and performs tests to ensure proper operation of valves.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Applicant will be responsible for the planning and execution of PM work orders associated with over 3000 PRV and PSVs in the Western North Slope area.

Applicant will also be responsible for operations and maintenance of a mobile Relief Valve Shop including the maintenance and updates of all relevant National Board Code and Recommended Practices used in the repair and maintenance of pressure relief devices.

Candidate must have familiarity with the various types of valves used in Kuparuk and the WNS, including gate valves, ball valves, plug valves, mechanically actuated valves, check valves and choke valves, in addition to understanding the wellhead piping itself.

Additional assignments will include assisting design engineers in the proper and consistent application of PRV design standards and in providing QC for new installations.

Candidate should also have extensive general valve maintenance and sigma pilot experience.

Candidate must be able to recognize damaged or faulty wellhead and facility valves.

Candidate must understand that sealants, greases, and injectable packings are required for each valve.

Candidate must be able to recognize damaged or faulty wellhead and facility valves.

Candidate Must be competent to recognize and deal with any leak or malfunction that they may encounter.

Candidate must be knowledgeable and skilled at hydro testing repaired, rebuilt, or third party valves and must be able to read and interpret graphs and charts required under API/ANSI and state codes.

Ability to calculate craft-related formulas with respect to bolting up and hydrotesting (material quantities, volumes, pressures, etc.).

Candidate must be able to maintain accurate computer based data in regard to the documentation of Pressure Relief Devices.

Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.

Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and openly with engineering, operations, and management personnel.

Candidate must also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and maintenance management system SAP.

Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class B CDL is required.
