Plumber/Boiler Maintenance Technician
Pay $26.78 - $32.89 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Plus $2.00 shift premium for 3rd shift.
Schedule:
3rd Shift Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Other days as needed.
Location:
10260 McKee Road, Collegedale, TN 37315.
- Oversee maintenance of boiler and piping systems, ensuring operations adhere to strict safety protocols.
- Adjust system controls and perform routine inspections and repairs on boilers, associated equipment, and hot water systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing-related issues and perform annual teardowns for state inspections.
- Assist with various plumbing calls and departmental projects as assigned.
- Commit to continuous technical development and work additional hours or "on-call" shifts as needed.
- Minimum of one year of verifiable experience installing, maintaining, and repairing high and low‑pressure pipes.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and maintenance and operation manuals.
- Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining gas‑fired hot water systems.
- Experience working at various heights using ladders and platform lifts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; team player with willingness to work with others.
- High level of initiative and self‑motivation.
- Knowledge and proficiency in using computers.
- Good safety, work, and attendance record.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and extended shifts as needed.
- Compliance with Corporate Risk Management conditions for operating company vehicles.
- Current Lift Truck license or ability to obtain.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors throughout the year in all temperature ranges and weather conditions.
- Minimum 5+ years direct, hands‑on experience and good working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners, gas, and associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion.
- Functional working knowledge of plumbing/steam maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
- Two‑year degree in an industrial mechanical or vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Kemco hot water system experience.
- Plumbing experience.
