Role Summary

The Data Analyst, Medical Insights (Senior Manager) is accountable for delivering ad hoc and exploratory analysis that answers business and scientific questions the platform can't natively address, working globally across regions and the Medical Insights team. This role partners closely with the Insights Platform Lead, surfacing where recurring analytical requests reveal gaps the platform should be built to close. It's a strategic fit for an analyst who wants direct, high-visibility impact on real business decisions while helping shape the future direction of a fast-growing global analytics platform.

Role

Responsibilities

Partner with Engagement Leads to clarify business questions, analytical scope, and timelines.
  • Experimentation & Innovation (~20-30%, protected) Test, pilot, and evaluate new data sources, analytical methods, or AI-enabled approaches ahead of platform investment. Produce proof-of-concept analyses that give the Product Director independent, evidence-based input into roadmap prioritization decisions. Document findings, limitations, and recommendations from experimentation to inform go/no-go platform decisions.
  • Quality & Documentation Maintain documentation for data sources, definitions, transformations, assumptions, and analytical methods. Support responsible, compliant use of Medical Insights data in accordance with governance, privacy, and legal requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of external stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience conducting data analysis, interpretation, and reporting in a pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with analytical and data-visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku, Python, or R.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business questions into analytical approaches and clear outputs, working independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to analytical accuracy, documentation, and reproducibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree or certification in analytics, data science, statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs or a related pharmaceutical function.
  • Familiarity with natural-language processing, machine learning, or text-analytics approaches.
  • Experience running proof-of-concept or pilot analyses ahead of production build-out.
