Position Summary

The Head Middle School Football Coach leads and develops student-athletes by teaching fundamental football skills, fostering teamwork, and modeling Christ-centered character. This role plans and leads practices, prepares athletes for competition, and builds a disciplined, positive, and encouraging team culture. The coach partners with the Athletic Department to support athletic excellence, spiritual formation, and the holistic development of each student while ensuring safety, accountability, and alignment with Covenant Christian Academy’s mission and values.

Role Responsibilities - Head Middle School Football Coach

With support from the Athletic Department:

  • Plan and lead four practices per week focused on skill, character, and spiritual development.
  • Teach and reinforce fundamental football skills, techniques, and game concepts appropriate for middle school athletes.
  • Prepare and lead the team for all practices and games, ensuring preparedness, punctuality, and accountability.
  • Develop and implement game plans, player development strategies, and game-day organization.
  • Model and instill Christ-centered character, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with athletes, parents, and the Athletic Department regarding schedules, expectations, and program standards.
  • Collaborate with staff to support program alignment, player development, and school spirit.
  • Uphold all school, athletic department, and safety policies.
  • Oversee equipment, uniforms, and facility care related to the football program.
Qualifications
  • Mature, growing personal faith in Jesus Christ aligned with CCA’s Statement of Faith.
  • Commitment to Christian education and Christ-centered student development.
  • Prior football playing or coaching experience is preferred.
  • Ability to teach age-appropriate football fundamentals, techniques, and team concepts.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relational skills.
  • Dependable, professional, and available for practice and game commitments.
  • Willingness to complete all TAPPS and school compliance requirements.
