Position Summary

The Varsity Head Football Coach leads Covenant Christian Academy’s football program with an athlete focused and Christ honoring approach that draws out the best in every student athlete. This leader establishes the vision, culture, and standards for courageous competition and program excellence. The Head Coach builds and leads a unified coaching staff committed to quality teaching, purpose-driven culture, and holistic athlete development spiritually, mentally, physically, and relationally.

This role works in close partnership with the Athletic Department, school leadership, and families to ensure alignment with CCA’s mission, values, and long term vision while pursuing sustained competitive success.

Key Role Responsibilities - Head of Football Program

Establish and lead the vision, culture, and long-term direction of CCA’s entire football program.

Develop and implement a Christ-centered program philosophy emphasizing discipline, effort, accountability, unity, and excellence.

Lead all varsity football operations, including practice planning, game preparation, strategy, and player development.

Oversee and develop the middle school football program to ensure alignment, continuity, and progression.

Partner with the Athletic Director to recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate football coaching staff across all levels.

Develop and oversee off-season programming, coordinating with coaching staff to drive athlete development through spring and summer training.

Build meaningful relationships with student-athletes, families, faculty, and administration.

Model and instill Christ-centered character, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Manage program operations including scheduling, equipment, facilities coordination, budgets, and compliance.

Communicate clearly and consistently with families, staff, and the Athletic Department.

Partner with school leadership to advance the mission, culture, and visibility of CCA Athletics.

Qualifications

Mature, growing personal faith in Jesus Christ aligned with CCA’s Statement of Faith.

Proven commitment to Christian education and Christ-centered leadership.

Significant football playing and/or coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead staff, build culture, and develop athletes.

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relational skills.

High character, professionalism, and accountability.

Ability to manage program-wide responsibilities with excellence and consistency.

Willingness to complete all TAPPS and school compliance requirements.
