Description
Yancey Brothers Construction is searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team. Your primary role will be to support our accounting operations by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and providing operational assistance. Responsibilities- Reconcile bank and other account balances and make related accounting entries to ensure accuracy of accounts
- Compile work-in-process figures for accurate month-end accrual
- Assist in month and year-end closings to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Cross-train on sales tax reporting and assist team to ensure compliance with filing deadlines
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Controller to support overall business operations.
- 1-5 years work experience
- Accounting or finance degree or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with account reconciliations
- Competence in maintaining the general ledger
- Ability to make accurate journal entries
- Familiarity with month-end-close procedures
- Experience with payroll accounting and processing
- Experience with Quick Books software
- Construction industry accounting experience is a plus
