Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join a team in Memphis, focused on recovering outstanding balances across a diverse portfolio. This role supports collection efforts for commercial accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong end-to-end collections knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage account issues with professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full collections cycle from initial account review through resolution, payment recovery, and follow-up activity.
• Handle outstanding balances across commercial accounts while adjusting communication strategies to fit each account type.
• Work on large and complex accounts.
• Review aging reports, billing details, and account histories to identify delinquency trends and prioritize collection efforts.
• Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues, clarify balances, and document commitments accurately in the designated system.
• Coordinate with internal teams to address billing discrepancies, credit concerns, and other issues that may delay collections.
• Maintain organized records of account activity, collection actions, and customer correspondence to support reporting and compliance.
• Apply established collection procedures consistently while using sound judgment to escalate sensitive or high-risk accounts when needed.
