Account Manager

Description We are looking for an Account Manager to join our team in Tennessee in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This position supports key customer accounts by overseeing order activity, responding to product and pricing inquiries, and helping ensure a smooth experience from order placement through delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong coordination skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work across sales, customer service, and operations to resolve issues and maintain accurate account documentation.

Responsibilities:

- Manage customer purchase orders from entry through completion, ensuring details are accurate and processed in a timely manner.

- Respond to client questions regarding pricing, inventory status, and comparable product alternatives to support purchasing decisions.

- Identify opportunities to expand account value by recommending additional products that align with customer needs.

- Monitor open orders, backordered items, and urgent shipments, providing timely updates and status reports to customers and internal teams.

- Prepare and distribute order, shipment, billing, and related account reports as requested.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, coordinating with internal departments to deliver responsive service and maintain strong business relationships.

- Maintain organized records for customer agreements, account documents, and contract-related information.

- Support electronic data interchange activities by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and helping maintain accurate order flow.

- Partner with customer contacts and warehouse personnel to coordinate shipping timelines, order changes, returns, and special handling requests.

- Address service or operational issues quickly and assist with additional sales support and customer service tasks as needed. Requirements - Experience in account management, sales support, customer service, or a related post-sales environment.

- Working knowledge of order entry, order management, and purchase order processing.

- Familiarity with EDI processes and the ability to investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies.

- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and collaborate across sales, operations, and warehouse teams.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and contract records.

- Comfortable managing multiple priorities, including backorders, expedited requests, and returns.

- Proficiency in supporting both inbound and outbound customer interactions with careful attention to detail. Talent Match®
