Qualifications:
  • Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for Tennessee or eligibility to obtain
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field
  • Prior experience working with students who have a range of disabilities and learning differences
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and faculty
  • Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional strategies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying student and program needs
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual learning goals
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages participation and respect
  • Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and other service providers regarding student progress and needs
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training to remain current with best practices in special education
  • Support students' social and emotional development alongside academic skill-building
