Systems Engineer
Overview
To provide technical and project management expertise to lead strategic technology initiatives that are critical to the long-term success of the Company. These initiatives include development of new capabilities through advanced technologies
Essential Functions- Responsibilities include project management.
- Provide technical and analytical input in assessment and application of advanced technologies (e.g., autonomous vehicles, robotics and other AI-ML applications) and support IT solutions.
- Planning, execution, and testing of implementation of emerging technologies in operations working with technology developers, suppliers, and operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with transportation/logistics industry.
- Experience in operations technology development, deployment, product development or technology research and evaluation.
- Familiarity with IoT technologies.
- Proficiency in Circuit Design, PCB Layout, Component Selection for low-voltage DC electronics.
- Familiarity with embedded computing design practices (Zephyr specific experience a plus).
- Proficiency in Electronics Diagnostics and Debugging.
- Experience in device design validation and certification (DO-160 and IEC standards).
- Familiarity with IoT cellular modems, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS chipsets.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, human relations, and communication skills especially with a diverse group of team members including technicians, software and hardware engineers, managers, and executives (technical and non‑technical groups).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Experience in operations technology deployment, product development or emerging technology research and evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in a business, technical or engineering field.
Five (5) years’ experience facilitating larger programs or multi-function projects, to include providing innovative, forward looking technology leadership, and vision in a practical business environment.
Location and ScheduleThis role follows a hybrid schedule, with the expectation of being in the office three days per week in Memphis, TN.
