Summary:
In a safe environment, operate molding machines to schedule, and assemble and pack quality parts.
Operate molding machines, assemble quality parts, and pack parts produced. Maintain 5S in assigned work area. Report daily production and scrap, and work with supervisor and co‑workers to resolve production issues. Other duties as assigned by management.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess a high school diploma is required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Requirements- Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with the IPS 3 tenets of safety
- Assist production supervision in achieving safety, quality and production goals.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ability to follow standard work.
- Effectively communicate with co‑workers and management.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
- Maintain a positive attitude and be self‑motivated.
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset and be willing to participate on problem‑solving teams

- Ability to use assembly tools to complete assigned work.

Ability to read English and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write in English. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsBasic math skills required.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to manage multiple priorities while assisting supervision. Ability to understand and interpret production documents.
Physical Demands- Using power tools and other mechanical tools – use air tools and other mechanical tools to tighten parts and ensure they are within specifications.
- Packaging product – placing material into plastic bags.
- Boxing product – placing the finish product into boxes.
- Cutting open boxes – cutting and removing tape and raw material to be processed.
- Scanning labels – scan finished product into the system using a scanning device.
- Make labels – unroll a roll of labels, place roll into a label machine, use the computer to enter information for that specific job and label.
- Tapping boxes – add packaging materials, secure the box and apply tape.
- Dipping and rinsing – clean parts when required using water or alcohol and follow safety protocols.
- 5S – ensure workstations are maintained in a clean and orderly manner following the principles of 5S.
- Assembling – assemble parts by hand, e.g., screwing two parts together, snapping a part into another part, wrapping a part in plastic, breaking down a part and making it into another part.
- Stamping UPS Code – ensure appropriate UPC code or serial number is added to finished parts using a stamp.
- Walking/Standing – 100% of time worked.
- Able to climb stairs, stoop.
- Able to drive between facilities.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must have dexterity to use hand and power tools.
The position is located in a factory setting. The person holding the position will be subject to noise, heat and humidity, and situations that can be hazardous unless reasonable care is exercised.
