Production Automation Technician
Carrier Climate Solutions in Collierville, TN is currently seeking a highly skilled and analytical Production Automation Technician to join our engineering and maintenance team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical cornerstone of our automated infrastructure—driving continuous process improvements, maximizing system reliability, and ensuring our production lines operate at peak efficiency. Onsite, 1st shift plus overtime.
Key Responsibilities- Controls & Automation:
Perform advanced troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and modifications on PLCs, VFDs, plant networking, and automated systems. - Process Improvement:
Take the lead on high-impact projects aimed at optimizing our manufacturing processes and implementing advanced tech. - Technical Go-To:
Act as the technical specialist for the maintenance team, guiding them through complex troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. - Maximize Equipment Performance:
Directly impact our bottom line by ensuring equipment reliability and repeatability, maximizing uptime, and guaranteeing consistent product quality. - Manage Software & Version Control:
Contribute upkeeping of the file directory for all production equipment, ensuring the maintenance team always has seamless access to the latest software revisions and files. - Document and Standardize:
Maintain meticulous documentation of all program and system control modifications to ensure total traceability. - Optimize Spare Parts Inventory:
Collaborate with the team to manage critical spare parts levels, reducing inventory costs while keeping us prepared. - Cultivate a Culture of Safety:
Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment, always leading by example when it comes to PPE and safety standards. - Collaborate and Deliver:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to foster a highly productive, efficient, and supportive team dynamic.
- Associate degree.
- 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years with a focus on automation/process controls.
- Must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Automated Systems, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of computer systems including MS Office.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
