Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and directing all nursing operations within the facility. This leadership role ensures compliance with quality standards, facility policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a collaborative, efficient, and resident-centered care environment.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse who has developed strong managerial and administrative skills. This leader is known for being efficient, dedicated, an excellent communicator, and a confident problem-solver who can guide teams, improve processes, and drive positive clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing personnel, including RNs, LPNs, and nursing support staff
  • Lead staffing procedures, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage and quality care
  • Establish departmental objectives and long-term strategic goals for the nursing department
  • Organize and coordinate admissions, nursing services, and resident care procedures
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality clinical care
  • Identify, address, and resolve operational challenges and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to streamline processes and enhance resident outcomes
  • Report nursing performance, quality indicators, and operational outcomes to executive leadership
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Long-term care experience required; minimum of one year of leadership experience preferred
  • Degree in Nursing required;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of budgeting, staffing, and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, survey processes, and best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
