About this Role
Carrier Climate Solution Residential has an onsite opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic 2nd shift in a unionized environment. Join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic and be responsible for the hands‑on upkeep and repair of our plant facilities and equipment. Using a full suite of tools—from standard hand tools to welding and diagnostic equipment—the Maintenance Mechanic executes critical repairs and supports new product rollouts.
Working under the direction of experienced Supervisors and Leads, the Maintenance Mechanic ensures that our machinery remains operational, safe, and efficient in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Perform repairs on equipment as defined above by diagnosing faults and making actual repairs, readjustments, or calibrations.
- Maintain and assist in keeping maintenance and calibration records and replacement parts for the mechanical equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per instructions and schedules.
- Replace unit components such as control relays, protective relays, thermostats, fan and blower motors, fuses, EAC compressors.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
- Follow site safety rules per the associate handbook, cardinal rule cards, job specific standard work and any EHS training documents.
- Report chemical spills and environmental concerns to appropriate people.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in industrial or military maintenance with a trade school certificate OR 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Read, write and pass Carrier Maintenance Qualification test.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions, bills of material, and precision measuring tools.
- Complete applicable safety programs (i.e. electrical safety, lockout‑tagout, PPE, safety audits and/or inspections).
- Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- English communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.

The hourly rate for this position is between $24.00 - $48.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
