POSITION SUMMARY
At Ironsmith Fire, a Fire Sprinkler Fitter is primarily responsible for working alongside the foreman while performing installations, making modifications or repairs to fire sprinkler systems in accordance with the Ironsmith Fire approved shop drawings, NFPA standards, and local codes. This can range anywhere from installing steel and CPVC piping, fire pumps, standpipe systems, hose systems, and working with the underground/site division to assist when necessary.
The duties for this position start from project initiation in the field and continue to final delivery. This position requires a level of professionalism to inspire and train less experienced team members.

- Suggest improvements within the Ironsmith Fire system if you witness inefficiencies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements without compromising quality or safety.
- Implement safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries on job sites.
- Uphold our commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and unparalleled customer service by enforcing strict adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Prioritize safety above all else, fostering a culture of safety consciousness and accountability among your team.
- Sprinkler Fitter's use the Ironsmith Fire approved shop drawings to interpret installation requirement details accurately and entirely.
- Notify the field or daywork superintendent of any deviations from the plan and/or potential field changes.
- Perform all tasks delegated by the foreman to assist in fulfilling project completion deadlines, meet scheduling requirements, and exceed the goals established by the field/daywork superintendent.
- Assist the foreman in installing and testing installations of fire sprinkler systems in new or existing construction projects.
- Follow designed plans and communicate needed design change to fit actual site requirements to the foreman.
- Responsible for minor fabrication on job site.
- Willingness to learn the basics of understanding project costs, budgets, and which financial metrics you personally affect.
- Install the fire sprinkler systems as designed by the Ironsmith Fire Design department without deviation.

Job Requirements
COMPETENCIES
- Experience in the fire sprinkler industry.
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and various tools needed to fulfil the job duties.
- A “do what it takes” attitude.
- Must have a basic understanding of blueprints and ability to read fire sprinkler shop drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required.
- Reliable transportation to get to the jobsite on time as designated by the jobsite foreman and Ironsmith Fire employee handbook.
