What’s The Role?
Working as a Maintenance Worker, Sr. in the Streets Division you can expect to perform a wide range of skilled street, roadway, and drainage maintenance tasks that help keep the community’s infrastructure safe and functional. Duties include building and repairing sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and drainage systems; pouring and finishing concrete; installing drain pipes and repairing concrete pipes; cleaning and maintaining drains and ditches;
and performing asphalt repairs, pothole patching, and sinkhole repairs. This role also involves grading work sites, packing ground materials, installing reflective roadway markers, painting traffic markings such as crosswalks and turn lanes, maintaining street signal lights, constructing and repairing barricades, and responding to roadway incidents by clearing debris from accident scenes. Employees in this position regularly operate equipment and tools while working outdoors in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Maintenance Worker, Sr.:
High School Diploma or GED
Supplemented by six (6) months previous experience and/or training involving construction or maintenance work in area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License
