Working as a Driver B, you can expect to play a vital role in the Town's solid waste and recycling operations by safely collecting, transporting, and disposing of waste, recyclables, and debris throughout the community. In this role, you will operate sanitation, recycling, transfer, and knuckle-boom trucks along assigned routes; collect residential and commercial waste; deliver and maintain waste containers; and assist with debris removal from neighborhoods, parks, and other Town properties.

Responsibilities include supporting transfer station operations, operating specialized equipment, maintaining collection schedules, performing vehicle inspections and routine maintenance, and ensuring all loads are transported safely and efficiently. You will also monitor worksite and traffic conditions, follow established safety procedures, maintain accurate records, and help keep Collierville clean, safe, and well maintained through reliable public service.

Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Driver B:

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in vehicle operation, equipment operation and work in area of assignment;

One (1) year previous experience and/or training involving vehicle operation, job related equipment operation, and work in area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B endorsement.
