Shipping and Freight Coordinator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Shipping and Freight Coordinator for a company based in Collierville, TN.
In this role, the Shipping and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics activities while providing extensive administrative support to warehouse operations. This role ensures accurate inventory records, timely order fulfillment, shipment documentation, and effective communication between internal departments, carriers, and customers. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with warehouse and ERP systems.
PayRate
$19.00–$22.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule and HoursMonday through Friday. Some overtime may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee all outbound and inbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, labels, manifests, and carrier paperwork.
- Process orders and maintain accurate inventory transactions using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, ERP, and MRP systems.
- Generate and maintain shipping, inventory, and operational reports for management review.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipment statuses, and customer orders.
- Coordinate with purchasing, customer service, sales, and transportation providers to resolve shipment issues and expedite orders when necessary.
- Schedule freight pickups and deliveries and communicate with carriers regarding shipment requirements and timelines.
- Conduct cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and investigate inventory variances.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and departmental records.
- Monitor order statuses and proactively communicate backorders, delays, and exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, shipping regulations, and safety standards.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Assist with stocking, picking, packing, and loading activities to support warehouse operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory management.
- Experience with WMS, AS400, ERP, or MRP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and external carriers.
- Ability to analyze data, maintain accurate records, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified preferred.
Full-time, temporary to hire.
