Controller, Accounting, Financial Controller

A well-established, privately held transportation and logistics company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function and partner with executive leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, internal controls, payroll, and developing a high-performing accounting team.

• Lead the month-end close process and prepare accurate financial statements
• Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Maintain strong internal controls and support audits
• Oversee payroll processing and compliance
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and system efficiency
• Mentor and develop the accounting team while partnering with leadership on strategic initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibilities
• Experience leading accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and GAAP
• Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting systems experience
• Salary: $150,000-$180,000 annually
