We're seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an accomplished public accountant who enjoys preparing complex tax returns, working directly with clients, and continuing to develop their technical expertise. You'll work closely with firm leadership while helping deliver high-quality tax, accounting, and advisory services to individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare tax work papers and supporting documentation.
  • Perform bookkeeping services for business clients, including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, month-end close activities, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Review financial statements, trial balances, and bookkeeping records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries and assist with financial statement preparation when needed.
  • Manage assigned tax engagements from initial client communication through final delivery with support from firm leadership as needed.
  • Research federal, state, and local tax issues and assist with developing practical solutions.
  • Communicate directly with clients to request information, answer questions, and provide exceptional service throughout the engagement.
  • Assist with year-round tax planning projects for individuals and business clients.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with tax resolution matters.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and team members to improve workflows and enhance the overall client experience.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and technical accuracy.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of recent public accounting experience required.
  • Experience preparing individual and business tax returns, performing bookkeeping services, and preparing financial statements for business clients.
  • Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120 is required.
  • Experience preparing Forms 1041 and 990 is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of federal and multi-state tax compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional, client-focused demeanor with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Pro Series Professional, Quick Books, and Canopy is preferred.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure is preferred.
  • High level of integrity with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client information.
