Tax Associate

We're seeking a Tax Associate to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an accountant with public accounting experience who is eager to continue building their technical skills while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

As a Tax Associate, you'll prepare individual income tax returns, assist with bookkeeping and accounting services, communicate directly with clients, and gain valuable experience preparing partnership and S corporation tax returns under the guidance of seasoned tax professionals. • Prepare individual income tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail, and assist with the preparation of partnership and S corporation tax returns under the guidance of senior team members.
• Prepare tax work papers and organize supporting documentation.
• Perform bookkeeping services for business clients, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and month-end bookkeeping.
• Assist with preparing financial statements and adjusting journal entries.
• Review bookkeeping records and trial balances for completeness prior to partner or senior team member review.
• Conduct routine federal and state tax research under the guidance of senior team members.
• Communicate with clients to request information, answer routine questions, and provide engagement updates.
• Assist with responding to IRS and state tax notices.
• Maintain organized electronic work papers and follow firm procedures.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and team members to support client engagements.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all work performed.

• 2+ years of recent public accounting experience required.
• Experience preparing individual income tax returns in a public accounting environment.
• Exposure to partnership and S corporation tax returns is preferred.
• Experience with bookkeeping services and assisting with financial statement preparation is preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state income tax concepts and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines during busy tax seasons.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Pro Series Professional, Quick Books, and Canopy is preferred.
• CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure is preferred.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously develop professionally.
