Job Description
Laura Buick-GMC is looking for motivated, competitive, and hard-working technicians who take pride in their work and are looking for industry-leading pay coupled with huge opportunities for available work. Our dealership is the #1 Buick-GMC sales volume dealership in the country and our service department is overflowing with available work from a huge car park of local customers.
We offer flat rate hourly wages starting at $38 per hour for Journeymen Technicians that increase up to $42 per hour based on training levels achieved, plus Union Healthcare, 401k, and vacation. In addition to our base wages, we offer big efficiency bonuses for technicians over 100% efficiency. Illinois law provides a 1.5 time multiplier on warranty repairs, now making most warranty jobs profitable for our technicians.
Our shop runs well above 100% efficiency each week, leading to big flat rate weekly pay opportunity.

We will invest in candidates who show a willingness to grow with our company through our Apprentice program, which provides the path for technicians to learn the craft and become Journeymen technicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintains a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair
- Conducts extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations
- Inspects vehicles according to the state’s requirements for emissions and safety
- Conducts necessary repairs and takes vehicles for test drives to verify soundness
- Maintains legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records
- Cleans and maintains the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be willing to participate in in-house training
- Must be able to operate all auto repair tools
- Must have knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment
