Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Physician in General Medicine to fulfill ongoing coverage needs in Houston, TX, starting March 6, 2026. As part of our committed healthcare network, you'll deliver top-tier medical assessments, focusing on providing quality care to Veterans and the community. This role emphasizes interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, without prescribing or treatment responsibilities.
It's an excellent opportunity for a versatile physician to contribute to impactful health assessments in a supportive environment that values your expertise.
Required Skills
Valid and unrestricted medical license in Texas
Board Certification or Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Proven experience in general medicine or similar clinical settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform interview-based assessments and basic physical examinations
Commitment to completing examinations efficiently and accurately
Reliable and professional with high ethical standards
Nice to Have Skills
Previous experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or military/department of veteran affairs environments
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Additional certifications in relevant medical specializations
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
Preferred
Education and Experience
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
Prior experience performing medical assessments or evaluations is advantageous
Other Requirements
Availability to work starting in March 2026, with flexible scheduling options
Ability to maintain all necessary state and federal certifications
Willingness to adhere to all compliance, confidentiality, and documentation standards
Candidates must be local to Houston, TX, or willing to commute as needed
No travel reimbursements or additional certifications outside of licensure are provided
Hourly Rate: $624.00
