Oates Associates is a 100% employee‑owned civil and structural engineering firm focused on enhancing our community. We are seeking a civil engineer with a focus on planning and design to make an impact within our community. Work will be out of our Collinsville, IL office.
Project Types and Services- Bike trail planning and design
- Parks and recreation facilities
- Civil sites (commercial, industrial, educational, municipal)
- Grant writing for recreational, aesthetic and transportation projects
- ADA transition planning
- Capital programming
- Asset management
- Alignment and feasibility studies
- Bachelor's in civil engineering
- EIT certificate or PE license
- 0 to 10+ years of civil engineering experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation - Geopak is a plus
- Experience with GIS software, such as ArcGIS, is a plus
- Strong technical, writing, communication and organizational skills
- Data collection and analysis
- Organizing and storing data to support evaluations
- Identifying solutions, sharing ideas and producing conceptual designs
- Developing concepts through design and producing construction documents
- Producing estimates of probable construction costs
- Community engagement
- Writing grant text and producing supporting exhibits
- Coordinating with team members, utility representatives, industry partners, stakeholders, community members and clients
- Hosting surveys, open houses and community advisory committee meetings
- Maintaining schedule, financial performance and quality of work on projects
