Job Title: Loan Assistant
Job Summary:
Assists Loan Officer(s) with administrative duties and functions in support of originating all varieties of Lending Products provided by FCB. Assists Loan Officer(s) in managing and servicing their loan portfolio(s). Provides service to customers and prospective customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Explains loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements to customers.
- Orders credit reports, prepares loan documents and analyzes debt-to-income ratio.
- Coordinates and conducts loan closings.
- Reviews loan documents with customers.
- Obtains customer’s signature on loan documents.
- Initiates disbursement of loan proceeds.
- Services loans in portfolio.
- Monitors and follows up on loan maturities and renewals.
- Works with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with FCB’s policies and procedures and federal and state regulations.
- Keeps informed of changing rules and regulations pertaining to private and government insured mortgages.
- Closes consumer loans.
- Completes loan maintenance.
- Assists with bank customer service.
- Handles loan customer service for all locations.
- Assists all loan officers as needed.
- Prepares certain Board reports.
- Pulls past-due reports for loan officers.
- Applies NSF charges for auto direct loan payments.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Strong and professional communication skills: oral, written, listening and presentation
- Strong technology skills, along with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and traditional office products (copiers, fax machines, ten-keys, phones, etc.)
- Customer Service – acknowledges, greets and responds quickly to customer needs; remains professional when dealing with challenging situations
- Problem Solving – identifies and resolves problems timely
- Teamwork – contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Quick learner, detail-oriented and effective at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.

- Working knowledge of bank operations, policies and procedures, and products and services, real estate lending function and federal and state lending regulations
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (preferred)
