Description
Leidos is seeking a Residential Energy Efficiency Contractor Manager to help strengthen and grow the contractor network that delivers the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program. Contractors, known within the Program as Program Allies, are central to helping customers access energy efficiency opportunities across Illinois.
This highly collaborative, contractor-facing role sits at the intersection of contractor success, customer experience, and Program performance. You will build trusted relationships with residential HVAC and weatherization contractors, help them navigate and succeed within the Program, use data and field feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the contractor perspective is represented as Program strategies, processes, and requirements evolve.
The right person is comfortable working at both the programmatic and field levels. You will look across the network to identify trends, capacity gaps, performance opportunities, training needs, and barriers to participation, then work across teams to develop and implement practical solutions. This is a fast-paced environment where not every challenge comes with an established SOP; successful candidates are curious, take initiative, collaborate well, and follow ideas through to implementation.
Location:
Ameren Illinois and Leidos believe it is very important to provide employment opportunity to the utility ratepayers that reside in Illinois. Therefore, there is strong preference for the successful candidate to be located in the Ameren Illinois service territory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the performance management of the Residential Program Ally contractor network across the Ameren Illinois service territory, building trusted relationships while supporting contractors in meeting Program expectations and mutual goals.
- Monitor contractor network health and performance using participation, production, quality, training, geographic coverage, trade capacity, and other available data to identify risks and opportunities and develop targeted strategies.
- Serve as a two-way conduit between contractors and the Program—translating Program requirements and priorities into practical contractor guidance while ensuring contractor feedback and field realities are meaningfully represented in Program design and implementation discussions.
- Strengthen contractor capacity, particularly across residential HVAC/air-source heat pumps and weatherization/building-envelope services, through targeted recruitment, training, technical resources, and ongoing engagement.
- Identify gaps in contractor coverage by geography, trade, capability, and anticipated Program demand and develop recruitment and development strategies with Program teams and implementation partners.
- Support contractors through onboarding and ongoing participation, including orientation, certifications, agreements, insurance, Program requirements, incentive updates, issue resolution, and other participation requirements. Maintain accurate contractor information and engagement records in Aleet (Salesforce).
- Collaborate across Residential and Business Program Ally teams, field teams, training/workforce development, marketing, Program management, Ameren Illinois, and implementation partners to create a consistent contractor experience wherever practical. | Serve as a bridge between Program Allies and marketing teams, helping translate contractor needs and opportunities into effective marketing support and encouraging contractor-driven customer lead generation that can be amplified through Program marketing resources and campaigns.
- Identify recurring contractor challenges and take initiative to develop scalable solutions, process improvements, communications, training,…
