Deputy IV - Circuit Court:Provides advanced clerical, legal, and courtroom support for the Clerk of the Circuit Count’s office.
- Arraigns defendants and swears witnesses and jurors.
- Records pertinent information to prepare orders for judges in criminal cases.
- Remains in court for the duration of the criminal cases.
- Performs legal research as it pertains to the laws and regulations governing the office.
- Reviews and prepares a wide variety of detailed correspondence, legal papers, and reports.
- Serves as assistant to the Chief Deputy Clerk to maintain all monetary funds.
- Maintains, collects, organizes, and submits data, information, and reports in a variety of digital systems.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Other duties as required.
- High School diploma and at least seven years of directly related experience or,
- Two years of college or Associate’s Degree and at least three years directly related experience.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The work is generally performed in an office environment. Typically, the employee may sit to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, stooping, carrying light items such as papers, books, or small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
