Job DutiesAbout the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Executive Secretary at the Division 1 Headquarters in Colonial Heights, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Serving as the Office Manager.
- Monitoring daily administrative activities originating and incoming to Division Headquarters staff as needed to ensure efficiency and continuity of operations.
- Providing administrative assistance and support to the division and area staff by answering inquiries based upon knowledge and experience.
- Composing routine and confidential correspondence and reports.
- Managing files.
- Notarizing documents.

Minimum QualificationsKnowledge of:
- Administrative and general office policies and procedures.
- Standard office filing systems.
Skill in:
- Typing.
- Data entry.
- Operating a computer.
- Using Microsoft Office Applications.
- Using automated office equipment.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
- Draft correspondence and reports.
- Work independently.
- Lead and train subordinate staff.
- Interpret and follow written and oral guidelines.
- Interact professionally with staff, Department executives, and the public.
- Secretarial and administrative experience required.
- Must be qualified to serve as a Notary Public.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
