Job Title: Director, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Technology

What we’re looking for

Dover Food Retail (DFR) has an exciting career opportunity for a Director, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Technology. This role leads Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering for DFR sites, serves as a new product introduction (NPI) lead for technology and processes, and acts as the subject matter expert to drive global manufacturing strategies for the business. A key deliverable is standardization and best-in-class cost.

What

you’ll be responsible for in this role
  • Lead the Advanced Manufacturing team across DFR.
  • Deliver process optimization vision and accountability through benchmarking and optimization methodologies.
  • Provide development input into performance reviews, skill requirements and development plans for all manufacturing engineering functions; provide technical leadership to Plant Engineering professionals and staff.
  • Serve as the NPI lead for technology and processes and drive global manufacturing strategies intended to achieve standardization and cost efficiency.
What you will do
  • Act as the functional lead for all Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing engineers in the buildings business.
  • Develop and implement the preferred process benchmark and optimization methodology; drive the solution implementation to optimize global processes.
  • Identify and deploy technology roadmaps; manage AME CI goals and prepare AME reports with KPI analysis.
  • Approve equipment CARs with operations leaders to ensure specification adherence and manage capital investments.
  • Lead Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives and coordinate PDP programs in DFMA feasibility reviews with Product Engineering.
  • Define equipment standards and controls; develop a manufacturing maturity assessment process to drive standardization.
  • Direct the implementation of equipment best practices across manufacturing globally and align top PBU priorities with global leadership.
  • Support Plant Engineering Managers; provide input into performance reviews and development plans.
  • Lead and develop JCMS Buildings SMEs; maintain DFM SME certification as required.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to improve service and problem solving.
  • Promote safe working conditions during plant visits and pursue ongoing personal development with internal and external SMEs and industry partners.
What we look for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing);
    Master’s degree preferred; minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing/operations leadership.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; CAD data interpretation skills; knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and related manufacturing techniques. Certification preferred.
  • Leadership experience in Manufacturing Engineering Management or Operations Management; effective communication and team leadership.
  • Program management skills; capability with project timelines and MS Office tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
