Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
As an R&O Maintenance Technician here at Solstice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and operational efficiency of our equipment and systems. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of safety and performance in our operations. You will report directly to our Maintenance Manager and work out of our Colonial Heights, VA location. In this role, you will impact the success of Solstice by ensuring that maintenance activities are conducted efficiently and effectively, thereby minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report on equipment performance.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Continuously improve maintenance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform duties that involve climbing ladders and crawling under duct work and machinery.
- Perform jobs that require scaffolds and man lifts.
- Work at heights including ceiling-mounted HVAC units.
- Remove bulk tops, replace and repair spin pumps, perform U‑joint PMs, PM HVAC units and clean coils.
- Servicing steam and electric heating units, running temporary electrical and steam lines, replacing office light bulbs, and removing and replacing screens on duct lines.
- Install overhead rigging for jobs.

Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
