Assembler II – Electrical – 1st Shift

Location:
Colonial Heights, VA – Plant 1
- Reads and understands work orders, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics to determine materials needed.
- Uses considerable judgment in planning work sequence based on the above.
- Create formal documentation for controller assembly function.
- Assemble electrical controls for all assembly areas.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Works closely with engineering resources.
- Mount electrical enclosures on cases
- Mount electrical devices in electrical cabinets and on structural surfaces.
- Run wiring, cables and conduit in accordance with recognized electrical standards (UL471, NEMA, NEC)
- Attach ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip, using crimping devices.
- Mark identifying data on completed wiring.
- Wraps and ties wires together in accordance with established workmanship criteria.
- Work in cooperation with engineering on new and special products.
- Must be able to train others
- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow prescribed safety rules and Company policies at all times.
- Prior experience with low-voltage electrical systems such as fire alarms, access control or related life-safety systems
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED required
- Ability to understand and interpret basic electric circuitry.
- Knowledge and capability of using basic electrical test equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to read instructions and wiring diagrams of internal equipment plus components
- Needs to know hand and power tools required in electrical applications.
- Previous experience performing electrical work preferred.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
