CNC Machine Operator

What You'll Do- Run the Line Like a Pro
- Operate semiautomatic packaging equipment on high-speed production lines with precision and confidence.
- Keep Things Moving
- Handle materials, load products, and ensure everything flows smoothly from start to finish.
- Master Changeovers
- Perform equipment changeovers and fine-tune machine settings to meet production demands.
- Solve Problems Fast
- Troubleshoot issues, make quick adjustments, and keep downtime to a minimum.
- Own Quality & Safety
- Conduct inspections, follow quality standards, and lead by example in creating a safe work environment.
- Maintain Excellence
- Keep machines clean, organized, and running at peak performance before, during, and after your shift.
- Collaborate & Improve
- Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
- Stay Hands-On
- Perform minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and Autonomous Maintenance (AM)
- Use Technology
- Operate and adjust machines using digital interfaces like HMI systems.
- Experience operating machinery in high-speed production or packaging environments (1–2 years preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform machine changeovers and adjustments confidently
- Experience with quality checks and production standards
- Comfort reading blueprints and using measurement tools
- Solid math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements)
- Familiarity with CNC operations is a strong plus
- Experience with preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout your shift
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Background in Mechatronics, CNC training, or technical education
- Experience with cardboard processing or packaging lines
- Knowledge of 5S, AM, and continuous improvement practices
- Forklift certification (or willingness to learn)

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
