Electrical Panel Assembler/Colonial Heights, VA/Onsite Role
Client OverviewThis role is with a longtime manufacturer in the Colonial Heights area that has been part of the local manufacturing community for over 30 years. The company builds commercial refrigeration equipment, including the glass door and display case units used in grocery stores and convenience stores across the country. You would be joining a production team that builds and wires the electrical systems that go into this equipment.
WhatYou'll Do
- Read work orders, drawings, and wiring diagrams to figure out what materials and steps are needed
- Plan out the order of work based on those drawings and instructions
- Assemble electrical controls used across different product lines
- Mount electrical enclosures onto cases and other equipment
- Mount electrical devices in cabinets and onto structural surfaces
- Run wiring, cable, and conduit to meet required electrical codes and standards
- Attach wire ends to components, plugs, and terminal strips using crimping tools
- Label and organize finished wiring so it is easy to trace
- Bundle and secure wires neatly and consistently
- Work with engineering on new or custom builds and help train other team members
- Able to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Experience assembling electrical panels or control enclosures, including mounting and wiring
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools for electrical assembly work
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to understand basic electrical circuits and diagrams
- Comfortable using basic electrical test equipment
- Familiar with hand and power tools used in electrical work
- Able to work the 2nd shift schedule, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Previous hands on electrical work experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience showing or training other team members
- Familiarity with UL, NEMA, or NEC wiring standards
- Experience creating simple work documentation or process notes
