Production Supervisor – Night Crew

Shift: 3 days one week/4 days the next, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am.

Salary: $69,700 – $109,700 USD annual.

Location:

Colonial Heights, VA. Facility manufactures Trojan condoms and Scent Booster in‑wash additives.

Role

Summary:

The Production Supervisor facilitates coordination of personnel, equipment and product to meet safety, quality, production and efficiency standards, while ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO, OSHA regulations and company policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, Lean manufacturing practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Responsible for on-the-job training and orientation of personnel in the department.
  • Responsible for all operations of machines and follow-up with maintenance or engineering.
  • Maintain attendance records, counsel and/or discipline employees within Company policy.
  • Prepare daily production reports, Process Orders, Device History Records (DHRs), Primary Packaging Records (PPRs), Pallet Placards and other testing, primary or secondary production records as necessary.
  • Review production documents and confirm that they are properly completed before forwarding to Quality Control.
  • Review operating conditions of all equipment and arrange necessary work with the Maintenance Department.
  • Monitor daily quality data to assist with troubleshooting any quality issues.
  • Assist with production planning and scheduling.
  • Be engaged in Lean activities and lead/participate in Problem Solves as needed.
  • Monitor start-up of the various areas within the Department, as required.
  • Attend shift hand‑off meetings and other required meetings. Present to the group the current department(s) status to include staffing, machine, product and quality issues.
  • Requisition, maintain and inspect in-process supplies.
  • Perform physical inventories as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
  • Work overtime as required.
Minimum Education , Training, and Experience Requirements:
  • 2–3 years related experience in leadership.
  • 2–4 year post‑secondary degree.
Preferred Education, Training, & Experience Requirements:

Four‑year college degree and at least four years’ experience in high‑speed manufacturing in the pharmaceutical, consumer products, food or medical device industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to read and understand English; properly fill out required forms and complete "read & sign" training in English.
  • Arithmetic skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers, fractions, decimals.
  • Organizational, communication and computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean tools and principles.
  • Able to use electrical and/or hand trucks, tools and all equipment safely.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery operation.
  • Demonstrate good insight and ability to develop mutual solutions to challenges.
  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment.
  • Initiative to lead continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
Required Training:
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Verbal, problem solving and leadership skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Work from a sitting and/or standing position for long periods.
  • Work with moving machinery.
  • Maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Comfortable in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non‑toxic dust.
  • Work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
  • Climb ladders and cross‑over ladders when required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; lift heavier loads during certain tasks.
  • Climb and use ladders; ability to climb stairs and reach for items.
  • Work in non‑air‑conditioned environment and tolerate exposure to moving machinery, chemical fumes, hot surfaces/tools, heat/cold, concrete/slick surfaces, repetitive motion, noise and dust.
  • Perform tasks that involve standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, leaning, pushing and pulling with weights up to 75–100 lbs as required.
  • Maintain health and fitness to support physical demands of the role.
