What You’ll Do
- Coordinate patient care from pre‑op through post‑op, ensuring a seamless surgical experience.
- Provide expert–level, age‑specific nursing care based on medical orders and multidisciplinary treatment plans.
- Document patient care, assessments, and responses to treatment accurately.
- Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying potential interactions or incompatibilities.
- Serve as an Orthopedic Surgery Support Nurse, offering specialized expertise in orthopedic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery, and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient wellness and injury prevention.
- Active RN license in Virginia.
- BSN or MSN preferred. All RNs must enroll and complete a BSN program within 5 years.
- BLS, ACLS certification (as required for the role).
- Previous experience in orthopedic, perioperative, or surgical nursing is a plus.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
- Work in a dynamic outpatient setting with no weekends, nights, or holidays.

Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state.
- Clin I: N/A
- Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience.
- Clin III: 3 years of clinical experience.
Clin I, Clin II, Clin III:
Diploma or Associate’s Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the state board of nursing.
All RNs without a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and complete the program within five years unless grandfathered under previous requirements.
AdditionalPosition Requirements
Practice within the boundaries of Virginia nursing regulations, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and established national and institutional standards.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): organizes work and delegates to and supervises others (RN’s, LPN’s, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, etc.) in carrying out assignments.
Physical & Mental Requirements- Physical: lift 20–50 lbs; frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, prolonged standing and sitting.
- Mental/Sensory: strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking.
- Emotional: handle fast‑pace and noisy environment, steady pace, multiple priorities, frequent/intense customer interactions.
