The Role
We’re hiring a detail-oriented, people-first Front Desk Clerk / Data Entry professional to support the Military & Family Readiness Center (MFRC) at Schriever Space Force Base. You’ll be the Center’s first impression greeting walk-in visitors, answering phones and email, and registering customers for classes while ensuring accurate daily data entry in the AFFIRST system. Training for base computer access and AFFIRST will be provided.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Front-desk reception:
Greet and assist walk-ins; provide directions and basic information on MFRC programs, services, and classes. - Customer communications:
Answer phones and the organizational inbox professionally and promptly; route inquiries to the appropriate program manager. - Registration & data entry:
Register customers for classes/briefings; input and track daily statistics in AFFIRST (Quick Tracker); maintain sign-in logs. - Resource center support:
Help customers with computers and printers (e.g., loading paper, clearing jams, changing toner); perform random usage checks per policy. - Marketing & updates:
Assist with flyers, social posts, website/calendar updates, base magazine/marquee submissions, and weekly marketing emails. - Facility organization:
Keep the front desk, brochure racks, bulletin boards, copier room, and supply inventories neat and up to date; conduct quarterly inventories. - Workshops & TAP support:
Help prep classrooms for MFRC workshops; enter Transition Assistance Program (TAP) data and schedule client touch-points in AFFIRST. - Team standards:
Deliver courteous, accurate service; maintain business casual dress; coordinate 30 min lunch within the 11:00-13:00 window.
- 4+ years of customer service, reception, or administrative support experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams; Access a plus)
- Fast, accurate data entry and strong attention to detail
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication
- Ability to obtain base access and government computer access (company-sponsored onboarding, including Cyber Awareness training)
- Reliability to cover core hours Monday-Friday and coordinate absences in advance
- Experience in a government, military, highered, or community services front office environment
- Familiarity with AFFIRST or other case/class registration systems
- Experience supporting basic printer/computer user needs
Comfort assisting with simple marketing tasks (flyers, social, website/calendar updates)
- Core service hours: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Friday (max 40 hrs/week)
- Office hours: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM; one 60 minute lunch between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
- May be asked to telework during adverse weather if base employees shift to telework; occasional support on installation down days may be requested by the Government.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass background checks necessary for base and network access (company-sponsored)
