Administrative Assistant I - Municipal Court (Administrative Assistant I)
The city of Colorado Springs is excited to welcome an Administrative Assistant I to the Municipal Court team! In this role, you will support the Probation Department by performing a broad range of administrative and technical tasks that help keep our operations running smoothly. You'll also serve as a key point of contact, providing clear, helpful information to both internal colleagues and external community members in alignment with Municipal Court policies and procedures.
This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.

As an Administrative Assistant I, you will:- Deliver timely, customer-focused support by assisting individuals in person, by phone, and through electronic communication to ensure prompt access to justice.
- Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical assistance to Probation staff to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Create, maintain, and organize official probation records; research case information; and coordinate Presentence Investigation interview appointments.
- Notify law enforcement agencies regarding individuals with active warrants as required.
- Schedule and track interpreter appearances to support accurate and accessible court proceedings.
- Manage the full lifecycle of probation files, including maintaining records, processing sealed cases, and handling sensitive documentation with confidentiality.
- Process all incoming and outgoing mail efficiently and in accordance with Municipal Court protocols.

Knowledge of:
- Modern office technology and software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Proper English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar

- Learn and apply relevant federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations in accordance with basic rules of criminal and civil court procedures
- Exercise independent judgment and sound decision-making with minimal supervision
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and deliver exemplary customer service
- Perform effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments
- Prioritize tasks while managing frequent interruptions
- Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, clients, and partner agencies

- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
- One year of full-time, professional clerical, administrative, and public contact experience in a related field
