Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control efforts for a major federal construction project supporting the Texas Military Department in Laredo, TX. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring all design and construction activities comply with contract requirements, project specifications, and federal quality standards.
Working closely with project leadership, the QC Manager will be responsible for reviewing, inspecting, documenting, and validating daily construction activities to ensure work is performed correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this position serves as the primary advocate for quality throughout the life of the project.

Project & Work EnvironmentThis position is based full-time in Laredo, Texas and will support the Laredo Readiness Center (RC) & Field Maintenance Shop (FMS) project.

- Oversee all project quality control activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and federal standards
- Manage and maintain the project's Quality Control Program
- Conduct inspections and audits of ongoing construction activities
- Review design documents, plans, specifications, and submittals for compliance
- Document quality control activities and maintain required project records
- Coordinate and lead quality control meetings with project stakeholders
- Identify deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality-related issues
- Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Verify testing and inspection activities are completed and documented properly
- Collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, and owners to resolve quality concerns
- Ensure construction activities meet USACE and federal project quality standards
- Prepare reports and documentation required by project owners and regulatory agencies
- Support project closeout activities and final quality verification efforts
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager (QCM) on Federal US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects
- At least 2 years of construction experience on comparable commercial or federal construction projects
- Demonstrated experience serving as QCM on vertical construction projects
- Experience supporting construction projects valued at $50 million or greater
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Engineering
- Architecture
- Construction Management
- Or a related technical field
- Strong knowledge of federal construction quality standards, processes, and documentation requirements
- Ability to review plans, specifications, and construction activities for compliance and quality assurance
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
