As a Traveling Superintendent, you'll lead all on-site construction activities from project startup through final completion while serving as Shames Construction's primary field representative.

Your responsibilities include:

• Lead all field operations while maintaining project safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and daily construction activities across multiple trades.
• Own and maintain the field construction schedule, including short-term look-ahead schedules, subcontractor sequencing, milestone tracking, and recovery plans when schedules are at risk.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, Project Managers, and other project stakeholders.
• Proactively identify field conflicts, schedule concerns, constructability issues, and other potential problems and develop solutions before they impact the project.
• Conduct and document daily jobsite activities, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Shames Construction safety policies, and all project-specific safety requirements.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation to ensure accurate field execution.
• Coordinate required inspections and work with local authorities and inspectors to maintain project progress.
• Manage punch lists, turnover requirements, and project closeout activities.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, progress photos, and communication through Procore and other construction management software.
• Communicate project status, schedule concerns, field conditions, and potential issues clearly and proactively with the Project Manager and project team.
• Represent Shames Construction professionally on every jobsite while maintaining our reputation for quality, integrity, and exceptional customer service.

We're looking for experienced Commercial Construction Superintendents who have successfully led vertical commercial projects for a General Contractor from mobilization through final completion.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent for a General Contractor, independently managing vertical commercial construction projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Residential-only construction experience does not meet the requirements for this position.
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing commercial construction projects, including one or more of the following:
• Big-box retail
• Grocery
• Restaurant
• Ground-up commercial construction
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and other construction documents.
• Experience developing and maintaining construction schedules and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Ability to identify potential schedule and field issues early and take appropriate action to keep projects moving.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other construction management software.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining consistent communication with the Project Manager and internal project team.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to project locations throughout Colorado and the United States, including extended overnight assignments as project needs require.

• Experience independently managing commercial construction projects valued at $5M+.
