TRAVELING SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking an experienced traveling superintendent to oversee field operations on various constructions projects who is willing to travel based on business needs and project schedules. Assignments typically last several months, so the successful candidate must be flexible and prepared to work wherever projects are located.

Job Responsibilities
  • Safely manage heavy equipment operations that may require excavators, rollers, blades, scrapers and miscellaneous construction equipment
  • Track, manage and communicate production of daily operations
  • Provide overall quality management on assigned projects
  • Consistently submit timecards and other necessary paperwork
  • Ensure employees perform equipment pre and post inspections
  • Understand plan grades as required
  • Distinguish between material types and moisture content of various soil typers
  • Maintain a clean project site
  • Give daily and weekly safety meetings
  • Perform construction related work as required
  • Lead in safety and ensure all employees are consistently participating in safety
Working Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, cold, noise and other conditions common to a construction site
  • May require irregular hours, out of town work, overnight stays, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May require working in safe trench conditions
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass and maintain pre-employment and drug screenings
  • Ability to pass an pre-employment physical
  • Ability to pass work history verification
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Positive and safe work history
  • Reliable means of transportation to and from assigned projects
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and operating levers or controls
  • Climbing, manual and finger dexterity including eye-hand coordination
  • Use of foot controls and pedals
  • Requires good or corrected vision and hearing within normal range
  • Requires ability to operate large equipment in rough terrain
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to understand and follow safety guidelines
  • Must be able to travel
Experience
  • Experience in Heavy Civil Construction
