Assistant Teaching Professor – Counseling and Human Services

Position OverviewUCCS is seeking a non‑tenure track, full‑time Assistant Teaching Professor to join the Department of Counseling and Human Services within the College of Education. The role will support the CACREP‑accredited Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students, and participating in programmatic duties.
Key Details- Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 per academic year
- Work Location: Primarily in person on campus, Colorado Springs, Colorado
- Start Date: Summer or Fall 2026 (position available to begin summer 2026 or fall 2026)

- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in counseling and human services using trauma‑informed, inclusive, and culturally responsive pedagogies; employ evidence‑based instructional strategies and integrate real‑world application.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons across multiple formats, including face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities, utilizing educational technologies and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum design, course alignment, and co‑teaching opportunities, ensuring content reflects current practices and licensure competencies.
- Provide student‑centered academic advising and career mentorship, supporting students’ preparation for fieldwork, licensure pathways, and ethical practice.
- Participate in departmental governance, accreditation efforts, student recruitment, and program assessment; build and maintain partnerships with local agencies and community organizations for practicum/internship placements and service‑learning opportunities.
- Master’s Degree from a CACREP‑accredited institution or a doctoral degree from a CACREP‑accredited institution.
- Ideal candidate:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado or license‑eligible; ABD or enrolled in a CACREP accredited Ph.D. program. - Experience with undergraduate students highly desirable.
