A licensed professional who organizes and facilitates the learning process utilizing a variety of evidence‑based instructional practices and applicable technology; participates in a community of learning to develop and refine knowledge and skills for the academic, civic, social and emotional success of students; consistently evaluates student progress, makes appropriate adjustments, and communicates student progress; regularly collaborates, reflects, and grows to improve learning opportunities for students.

Subject to annual budgetary considerations, the typical stipend offered annually is 20% of the teacher base pay for additional work beyond the scheduled work day and/or work calendar as determined by the supervising administrator.

  • Advocates for schools/departments and students by partnering with students, families, and communities as appropriate

  • Complies with applicable state and federal laws, district administrative policies, procedures, and practices, and location requirements
  • Contributes knowledge and skills to educational practices and the teaching profession
  • Creates processes which maximize instructional, collaborative, and preparation time
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a diverse population of students and/or appropriate staff by creating an inclusive and positive school culture and provides instruction in meeting the needs of diverse students and/or appropriate staff, talents, experiences, and challenges in support of student achievement
  • Demonstrates a rich knowledge of effective instructional practices, as identified by research on best practices, in order to support and guide students and/or appropriate staff in data‑based decision making regarding effective practices to maximize student success
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards
  • Demonstrates leadership in schools and the district
  • Ensures that a plan is in place that supports improved academic achievement and developmental/ behavioral outcomes for all students and/or appropriate staff, and provides data‑based progress monitoring
  • Ensures that students are supervised at all times
  • Follows established policies and procedures regarding the health, safety, welfare, and education of students
  • Fosters a school culture that encourages continual improvement through reliance on research, innovation, risk‑taking, high expectations for all students and/or appropriate staff, and a valid assessment of outcomes
  • Holds all staff accountable for setting and achieving rigorous performance goals for all students and/or appropriate staff and empowers staff to achieve these goals across content areas
  • Implements by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
  • Instructs, assesses, and differentiates for all students' academic, social, emotional, and health needs
  • Links professional growth to their professional goals
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy
  • Makes provision for availability to students and parents for education‑related purposes when required or requested
