Preschool Teacher​/Assistant Director

Creative Play Centers is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced early childhood professional to join our leadership team! This unique position combines teaching in our four-year-old preschool classroom with Assistant Director responsibilities, making it perfect for someone who enjoys working directly with children while also helping lead a successful preschool.

For more than 50 years, Creative Play Centers has provided high-quality early childhood education to families throughout Colorado Springs. We believe children learn best through meaningful relationships, engaging experiences, and caring educators who love what they do.

As our Preschool Teacher/Assistant Director, you’ll spend part of your day leading a fun, engaging four-year-old classroom while also supporting the Director with the daily operation of the center. You’ll mentor staff, build relationships with families, help maintain licensing standards, and step in wherever needed to keep the center running smoothly.

Salary Range: $20-24/hour

• Create a warm, engaging classroom where children can learn, explore, and grow.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Foster positive relationships with children and families.
• Complete observations, assessments, and required classroom documentation.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment.

• Support the Director with daily center operations.
• Help coach, encourage, and support classroom staff.
• Assist with licensing compliance and Colorado Department of Early Childhood regulations.
• Help maintain children’s records and required documentation.
• Assist with scheduling, enrollment, tours, and family communication.
• Step into classrooms as needed to support the team.
• Promote a positive, professional culture where both children and staff thrive.

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet Colorado Department of Early Childhood qualifications for an Assistant Director.
• Meet teacher qualifications for a preschool classroom.
• Have strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Hold or be willing to obtain First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, and all required Colorado certifications.
• Successfully complete all required background checks.
