Wilmot Elementary serves approximately 290 preschool through 5th grade students in a wonderful and enriching environment for all students, parents, and faculty. We incorporate many forms of technology into our daily differentiated instruction so all students may learn to their highest potential, including 1:1 Chrombooks in Grades 3 - 5. We utilize Colorado Prioritized Content Standards, proficiency scales, common formative assessments, and integrated social emotional and ISTE lessons. We utilize the PLC continuum and provide teachers with facilitated planning meetings with our instructional coach.

We are seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and organized Paraprofessional to provide essential academic support to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with identified learning disabilities. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed special education teacher and in collaboration with general education teachers, the Paraprofessional will play a vital role in facilitating academic access, promoting engagement, and supporting the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs).

Please note that this is a shared position and we are hiring for Thursdays and Fridays from 7:35am-2:35pm.

The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

SUMMARY:

Provide students with disabilities instructional support as directed by special education teacher or building administrator as needed. Work individually or with a small group of students with disabilities using a variety of techniques, and help students with their daily school work or life skills instruction. Assist with implementing lesson plans, keeping classroom organized and performing clerical work. The continuance of this position each school year will depend on funding and school needs.

• Provide instructional and behavioral support in all academic and related areas to students, as directed by the teacher.
• Provide support to special education teacher such as preparing materials, assist in the implementation of IEP (Individualized Education Plan), provide input into the IEP when appropriate, deliver instructional materials for individual students, keep attendance and activity records, collect data for progress monitoring, and implement behavior intervention plans.
